Option Expiration - December 2013

I had total of 22 options with December expiration. I rolled one to January; closed two; and two were assigned.

The morning of option expiration, my  Emera Corp (EMA.TO) puts were in-the-money. I rolled this position to January for a credit of $55.02 to avoid assignment. The stock closed above $30 and I discovered if I had not rolled the puts, they would have expired without assignment.

I closed two of my option positions due to a negative margin: on December 12, I closed Colgate-Palmolive $50 puts for a profit of $142.51. On December 13, I closed Exxon Mobil (XOM) $70 puts for a profit of $192.51.

My Exxon Mobil (XOM) and Crescent Point Energy (CPG.TO) calls were assigned.
